Ellen Page (born on February 21, 1987) is a Canadian actress, most notable for her award-winning roles in Pit Pony and Marion Bridge, and the 2004 TV series Regenesis. Ellen is particularly well known in Canada, for playing the character Treena on the hit TV show Trailer Park Boys, and gained substantial attention for her starring role in Hard Candy. Her highest-profile role to date has been in 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand playing Shadowcat (Kitty Pryde).


Born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Ellen Page started her drama training at the Neptune Theatre School. Ellen began her acting career at the age of 11 in a made-for-TV film (which would later be made into a series) called Pit Pony. This led to roles in a number of small Canadian films and television series. At age 16 Page was cast in an independent film shot in Europe, Mouth to Mouth, which solidified her place among the most talented young actors in Canada.

Ellen Page graduated from the Shambhala School in 2005 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and plans to work next on The Basement (also noted as An American Crime), based on the true story of Sylvia Likens, opposite Catherine Keener.
