Milo Ventimiglia (born on July 8, 1977) is an American actor. Milo may be best known for his role as Jess Mariano in the television dramedy Gilmore Girls.


An Orange County native, Milo Ventimiglia wrestled in high school and held presidential office in student government. He is of Sicilian descent on his father's side and a combination of Irish, English, French, Cherokee, and Indian descent on his mother's.  Ventimiglia wanted to act since he was a young boy. However, he didn't know where to start. One day his mother introduced him to an old friend who was a photographer, who took his picture. Milo's mother showed it to an agent. At 18 years old, he started auditioning, booking jobs, and working his way up. He received a scholarship to attend the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco for their summer program. From there, Milo studied for a while at the University of California, Los Angeles and the San Francisco American Conservatory Theater.

Milo Ventimiglia left UCLA on his freshmen year to perform on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,. Ventimiglia has also guest starred on series such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Boston Public.

From 2000 to 2003, Milo Ventimiglia played broody teen Jess Mariano on Gilmore Girls. He signed on for a spin-off of Gilmore Girls, entitled Windward Circle, which would focus on the relationship between Jess and his estranged father, though it was cancelled due to the high cost of filming on location in Venice, California. He also directed the 2003 and 2004 WB Image Campaigns for popular shows such as Gilmore Girls, One Tree Hill and 7th Heaven. Some of the WB stars he has directed include David Boreanaz, Tom Welling, Kristin Kreuk, Michael Rosenbaum, Jamie Kennedy, James Marsters, Rose McGowan, Allison Mack, Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, Beverley Mitchell, and Reba McEntire.

Milo Ventimiglia recently starred in The Bedford Diaries, which aired Wednesdays on The WB. The show was not picked up for a second season, but he will star in Heroes (TV series) on NBC instead. It is a show about ordinary people discovering they have superpowers. He also is slated to play Robert "Rocky Jr." Balboa, the son of Rocky Balboa, in the new Rocky film Rocky Balboa coming out in December 2006.

Milo Ventimigliais a lacto-vegetarian. Romantically linked to his former Gilmore Girls co-star, and on-screen girlfriend, Alexis Bledel. He confirmed in a July 2006 interview with TV Guide that he is now single. Milo and Alexis split in early spring 2006 after more than 3 and half years together.
