Rosa Maria Perez (born September 6, 1964) is a Puerto Rican-American actress, choreographer, producer and director.



Rosie Perez was born in Bushwick, Brooklyn, New York. She started her career as a dancer on Soul Train and has choreographed dances for music videos by Bobby Brown, Diana Ross, LL Cool J and The Boys. Perez was nominated for an Academy Award in 1994, in the Best Supporting Actress category. In 1999, she was married to filmmaker Seth Zvi Rosenfeld, but separated in 2001. She is also recognizeable for her nasal voice. She made her acting debut in Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing.

Rosie Perez was recently on Broadway in Craig Lucas's Reckless alongside Mary-Louise Parker.
