Shu Qi (born on April 16, 1976) is the stage name of a Taiwanese actress).

Biography

Shu Qi began as a model for adult magazines and other erotic photography. It did not take long for her to star in various soft porn films, before eventually switching to mainstream films.

It is often thought that Shu Qi learned English for her role as Lai Kwai in The Transporter. In fact, Shu Qi did not actually learn the language, but rather memorized the lines phonetically. More recently she has been travelling around the world and she has been able to communicate in English.

In 2005 Shu Qi won Best Actress in the Golden Horse Awards for her triple role in Hou Hsiao-Hsien's Three Times.
